Distribution Automation Workshop: IntelliRupter® Fault Interrupter

September 24 to 26, 2019 | Chicago, Illinois

Learn how to connect to an IntelliRupter fault interrupter and configure settings through valuable hands-on programing and exercises. Topics include PulseClosing® Technology; the PulseFinding™ Fault Location Technique; protection settings, including bi-directional overcurrent protection; communication settings; and more.

Become versed in the hardware features and practice operating IntelliRupter fault interrupters manually and via IntelliLink® Setup Software. Upgrade the firmware on a control module. Perform troubleshooting by reviewing diagnostics, status logs, and event logs from live events performed in S&C’s Product Demonstration Center.

Attendees wanting to learn about advanced features of this product should consider attending the one-day IntelliRupter Fault Interrupter Advanced Workshop offered immediately following this course. Individuals interested in detailed training for specific applications should contact S&C to discuss custom training programs. Instructors for this workshop are S&C application and field-service engineers who design, quote, and/or implement such solutions.

  • The registration fee for this workshop is $1,295 per attendee.
  • Participation is limited to 12 attendees.
  • Registration for this workshop closes on Friday, September 6, 2019.
  • Participants will receive a certificate of completion for 15 hours of classroom participation. Attendees wishing to earn credit for Professional Development Hours (PDH) are responsible for reviewing the requirements set forth by the state board(s) where they are licensed to confirm eligibility and also for reporting the hours.

Distribution Automation Workshop: Advanced IntelliRupter® Fault Interrupter

September 26 to 27, 2019 | Chicago, Illinois

Dive deeper into the advanced features of IntelliRupter fault interrupters, such as Communication-Enhanced Coordination (CEC) and Intelligent Fuse Savings (IFS).

Configure a loop restoration scheme between two IntelliRupter fault interrupters. Learn the procedures for downgrading firmware. Perform more in-depth event analysis by downloading waveforms and analyzing in WaveWin software.

It is recommended that participants attend the basic IntelliRupter® Fault Interrupter Workshop prior to this advanced course. The basic course is offered immediately before the advanced course. Instructors for this workshop are S&C application and field-service engineers who design, quote, and/or implement such solutions.

Circuit-Switcher Workshop

October 8 to 9, 2019 | Dallas, Texas

S&C’s day-and-a-half-long Circuit-Switcher Workshop will provide attendees with valuable, in-depth information and a unique hands-on experience in the installation, operation, adjustment, and maintenance of the following S&C Circuit-Switchers:

  • Type G through Mark V Circuit-Switchers
  • Series 2000 Circuit-Switchers


The workshop’s primary emphasis is on S&C Circuit-Switchers rated 34.5 kV through 230 kV. Attendees wanting to learn about other circuit-switcher models should contact S&C to arrange for individual discussion of these devices after the regular workshop program.

The focus of this workshop is on installation, operation, and maintenance procedures. Individuals interested in detailed training on the application of Circuit-Switchers should contact S&C to discuss training programs.

The Circuit-Switcher Workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on October 8 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 9 at S&C Electric Company, 10421 Sanden Drive, Dallas, Texas.

The registration fee for this workshop is $995 per attendee. Participation for this workshop is limited to 16 attendees.

Distribution Automation Workshop: SpeedNet™ Radio

October 22 to 23, 2019 | Chicago, Illinois

Review radio communication fundamentals and networking basics and solidify this knowledge through hands-on exercises. Discuss the benefits of mesh radio networks. Learn SpeedNet Radio specifications, configuration options, and security features. Set up a two-node radio system by connecting to and configuring SpeedNet Radios using the SpeedNet Radio Client Tool.

Upgrade the SpeedNet Radio firmware and perform a factory reset. Learn SpeedNet Radio system performance optimization best practices and troubleshooting steps. Instructors for this workshop are S&C application and field-service engineers who design, quote, and/or implement such solutions.

  • The registration fee for this workshop is $895 per attendee.
  • Participation is limited to 12 attendees.
  • Registration for this workshop closes on Friday, October 4, 2019.

Circuit-Switcher Workshop

November 5 to 6, 2019 | Ontario, Canada

S&C’s two-day-long Circuit-Switcher Workshop will provide attendees with valuable, in-depth information and a unique hands-on experience in the installation, operation, adjustment, and maintenance of the following S&C Circuit-Switchers:

  • Type G through Mark V Circuit-Switchers
  • Series 2000 Circuit-Switchers


The workshop’s primary emphasis is on Circuit-Switchers rated 34.5 kV through 230 kV. This course will be delivered by S&C Electric Canada Ltd. at the Hydro One Stations Training facility located in Orangeville, Ontario.

Participants are required to bring the following safety equipment: dielectric footwear, safety glasses, a hard hat, hearing protection, and fire-resistant clothing.

The Circuit-Switcher Workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on each day at the Orangeville Stations Training facility, 125 C Line, Orangeville, Ontario, Canada, L9W 3V2.

The registration fee for this workshop is C$3,000 per attendee. Participation is limited to 12 attendees for this workshop.
